Laptop without a keyboard?

Posted on April 15th, 2009 | by admin

When you make an innovation, you generally improve something. I don’t think when when Apple decided to remove the keyboard from there laptop they intended to make life easier for there users. I can imagine the wheel makes navigation more intuitive but I wonder how long it will take me to make a blog post with it.

I cant help but think that Mac was not serious when they designed this product. Maybe they intended it to be a over sized over priced iPod. It will be interesting to see if people will buy the Mac Book Wheel. For now I am content in having 60 keys instead of one.

Laptops have come leaps and bounds in the last couple of years. Can you remember the bulky machines from just a couple of years ago. These days a pocket laptops has more processing power than a monster desktop machine had a few years back. Take the Asus EEE PC 904 HD Laptop for instance. This Machine packs 900Mhz of processing power an 1GB RAM and it weighs in at a mere 1.4kg. Apart from the dramatic increase in laptop performance, there was also quite dramatic changes in designs. These days a pink laptop is not an uncommon site. Mac has even gone so far as to make a laptop that trades in the standard keyboard in for a wheel.

But one of the craziest advances in laptops I have seen is this folding laptop concept from Asus. It is only in concept phase but we hope to see it in production soon. Take a closer look at the Origami Laptop in the vid below.
